Autoroute 30

Montreal, Canada

Dragados was commissioned by the Ministère des Transports du Québec as a member of a Design-Build Joint-Venture to construct the Autoroute 30 Project. The Project was delivered with an alternative financing and procurement (AFP) model and it was the largest Public-Private Partnership infrastructure project in Canada when awarded.
The A-30 Project is a highway that serves as a bypass to the south of the City of Montreal. The new highway consists of a 42 km, 6 lanes highway which provides a vital linkage between Vaudreuil-Dorion to Chateauguay. The project also included the construction of 30 overpasses, 10 large interchanges. Major structural work involved in this project was the erection  of two (2) major bridge crossings – a 2.5 km bridge over the Beauharnois Canal, and a 1.8 km bridge over the St. Lawrence River – as well, a 90 m tunnel beneath the Soulanges Canal. Both bridge structures employed innovative designs and construction features to accommodate the shipping channels and stringent environmental constraints.
